Who We Are

The energy sector plays a significant role in achieving goals related to agriculture, education, income generation and poverty alleviation, quality healthcare delivery, and gender balance. At ESEA, we go beyond “lighting”. We deploy renewable energy for real impact.

The Edo State Electrification Agency

The Edo State Electrification Agency (Formerly Rural Electricity Board) was established by an Edict No. 6  of 1972. to strengthen the operations of the Agency, and in line with the Make Edo Great Again agenda of the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration, the Board became Agency in 2022.

Vision

To ensure that all Urban, Semi-Urban and Rural communities and all Government infrastructures have reliable and efficient electricity supply by the year 2030.

Mission

To provide electricity supply either by extending the grid system or by means such as renewable energy to rural, semi-urban and urban communities in order to stem rural-urban drift, improve social economic activities and create employment opportunities.
